Hotkeys

Postby Taioba » Sat Sep 01, 2012 2:44 am

Please come back with hotkeys!
They are the main reason for using ClipCube. It is a GREAT feature that greatly facilitates its use.

0.2.1 (Aug 10, 2010)

added global hotkeys:
Ctrl + Numpad 0: show/hide History
Ctrl + Numpad [1-9]: paste Nth item directly to any program

Hi zod!

I am very happy knowing that you are working on it.

Take this opportunity to make a suggestion:
Unlike the old version, it would be great if the new version maintains the order of records.

In the old version, if I press ctrl +3, because I know that I want the text that is in position 3, the order is undone and record 3 is moved to position 1, changing every order that I have memorized. Ideally record 3 remains in the same position until a new text will copied.

Another crucial thing that you should always keep in mind: it is a wonder why ClipCube ONLY consumes 3kb of RAM memory. Do not turn into a monster devouring memory, please!

Thanks for your great work!

Hi!

Sorry for the massive answer lag, I've been busy.

The order of records will be maintained, that was annoying in the old version.
Actually, there was an improved version of the 0.2 which was sadly never released; its source code got lost in a drive failure w/o backup. It did contain the fix for maintaining order..
One of the reasons for the rewrite.

We have of course no intentions of turning ClipCube into a bloat monster.
But 3 KB? I think you should replace your memory monitor, that is quite impossible! We aren't _that_ good. :D

My mistake! It was to enter 3mb.
Remains very little! :)

It is a tip: I'm a developer and I've lost a HD.

While I have gotten very used to ctrl+shift+x and ctrl+shift+c, sometimes I find myself still hitting ctrl+numpad0 to bring up the main window.

Would it be possible to add numberpad support?

Thanks!

Yes, the shortkey configuration is being extended to accommodate more keys. The respective Manual section will be updated.

Any news on this issue of returning the shortcuts to paste the items stored?
ctrl+numpad1 paste item 1
ctrl+numpad2 paste item 2
.....

Sorry for being unresponsive, I have been busy lately. However I'm going to have more free time in the coming weeks so can work on this feature as well. It is not forgotten.

Cheers,
